| The Vocal Check-up
Why not fast before service? If you can't for health reasons...then its o.k. Fasting and prayer gives you power and direct communication with God. So, be open and let Him use you mightly!
Definitely stay away from dairy products, mayonnaise and chocolate before singing. Why? Because mucous will form on your vocal cords. (yuk!)
Please stay away from all sinus medicine like antihistamines, and cough drops before singing as well. Why? These products will dry your throat out.

A Little Something for the Worship Ministry!
|
|
Felllowship is very important for a worship ministry. The most important part is to spend time with God more. It is also important for the people that you work with in ministry take a break. After you've rehearsed for two hours at church...why not gather the team and go fellowship activity? I found theat spending time cause the group to gel better. Try to do something once a month. Always start with prayer and let God be your guest of honor!
Prayer Activity
Why not try a different way of provoking prayer amongst the team. Here's how to get started. Take two all purpose envelopes for home or office use. Then take a marker and write " Team" on one envelop and " Prayer" on the other one. It is also an good idea to color code these papers and envelopes. In the one for team you must add all of the team members names. In the prayer envelop you must add different prayers pertaining to the need of the ministry. Now have everyone select one from each envelop and pray that prayer for whom ever you select. This prayer can be done quietly. We everyone has done this then return them to their proper envelops. The members are not to tell who they prayed for or what about. Please send me an email and tell me how you liked it!

Peep This...
"Make sure that you're singing for the LORD! Some people have sang all of their lives without purpose. What is purpose? The dictionary says, aim or intentions...hmmm? It's nothing wrong having a degree or professional vocal training, or just a gift of singing. The question is...do you intend to bless the Lord with your gift? Have you asked God how to use your gift? The word of God teaches us to sing with understanding. Psalm 47:7 " For God is King of all the earth, sing praises! Sing praises with understanding, sing praises. Well, If you're just singing to be heard or because you just can than maybe you need to re-evaluate why you're doing it! In the FLESH dwelleth no good thing. Start by filling yourself with the word and build on the relationship that God wants from you...and watch God change your desire to sing!
